I live in Redding Ca. about 180 miles north of Sacramento....I have been working on getting my '69 Roadrunner upgraded and updated to go doorslammer racing again.....I've been focused on the Nostalgia Dragster scene for the past 15 years and my poor RR has been up on jackstands the whole time.....
I've freshened the motor ...new 590 lift Purple shaft cam...new Isky valve train...new Barry Grant fuel system (Race Demon 820/Fuel Pump/Reg)....New digital 6 MSD with billet distributor...new Ron Mancini 727 (Griner TB valve body) 8" Turbo Action converter....Took out the SS leaf springs and am installing Cal Tracs with the mono-leafs and calvert shocks...Took out the Powr Lok pumpkin out of the Dana 60 and went to a spool with Richmond 4.56 gears.....Had Mark Williams build a new 4" alum. driveshaft with 1350 spicer u-joints and their chromemoly pinion/trans yokes....took off the old HEAVY drum brakes and put new wilwood dynalite disc brakes all around.....New Griffen Alum radiator.....No money for paint, so she stays her old blue color for awhile...that's the color everyone is used to seeing her anyway....The things that haven't changed: The original glass, steel bumpers and trunk lid are still on the car...
I'm hoping to be test firing the engine by the end of the month and get her on the track shortly after....I've still got a couple of Nostalgia races left this season.....so I hope I don't get sidetracked.....Both cars are fun....But the dragster is a real production to run and I'm looking forward to be able to just load up the RR and head to the track by myself and not have to worry about crew and logistics, Etc....
I'm excited about being part of this site and hope to get some racing action pictures and videos of both cars on here as soon as possible....
